Bio

I studied at Virginia Commonwealth University for Fashion design. My goal is to share my love of Couture Fashion. Growing up in New England I enjoyed being active in a variety of sports, dance forms, singing, theater, art, photography, fashion, hair and make-up. I suppose you could say I love it all possessing great energy fueling my passions taking them from emotions, thoughts and ideas onto the canvas, runway, and out to the public sharing my creativity and expression of my soul. I was born in South Portland, Maine, grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts, nominated as a junior in high school to participate in the Art All State held at the Worcester Art Museum and finished high school in Naples, Florida where I placed in multiple art shows. I traveled to Richmond, Virginia to pursue my BA in Fashion Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, VCU. As an extra-curricular activity I competed in the yearly Wearable Art Fashion Show held at the 1708 Gallery in Richmond, Virginia. My first experience as a competitor proved to be the beginning of my love affair of a lifetime with fashion. I competed all four years during college placing Best in Category and Best in Show and was invited back as a professional artist post-graduation. Following graduation I moved to California to be immersed in the fashion industry creating original designs for entertainers capturing their personal expression as a statement delivered through visual image. Starting with a design internship at Matty M followed by an internship with Fox Studio in wardrobe assisting with a private movie venture then on to Dillon Rogers working with personalized jewelry and then at Dandy Craft with full production of handcrafted bracelets. Also while living at Venice Beach I designed and produced my own Venice Beach inspired fashion and accessories line. Las Vegas sparkle grabbed my attention and pulled me from California into an exciting and new world of self-expression offering opportunity into a fun inspiring community. I started working with Raw Natural Born Artists in Las Vegas doing an art exhibit and then on to a 12 piece Collection I called Asylum for the Raw Show. I was then nominated and competed against two other designers. I won Las Vegas Raw Fashion Designer 2011. www.rawartists.org/lasvegas/rawards2011. Networking with so many talented artists I have participated in the Steam-punk Cause-Play Couture Fashion Show, Artifice Bar, raising funds for the The center and Spread the Word Nevada Kids to Kids, also a fund-raising event for The Emigrant at the Beauty Bar. I have also done fashion shows for the first two opening events for 1 Crazy Happy Hour and a live photo-shoot at their last event, Twisted Christmas Fashion show, Indie Krush New Year’s Fashion show at Beauty Bar, Raptures Riot Anti-Valentine’s Day show for Shade Tree and CNR Concepts Women’s Self Defense Training, dressed multiple people for Las Vegas parties and events, numerous photo-shoots and made the Cover of Evvo Magazine with a two page feature.I will also be doing Couture evening wear at LasVegas Fashion Week and a Burlesque themed runway show for Fashion in The City at the Wynn. The artist’s community in Las Vegas is fresh, innovative, openhearted, giving, connected, dedicated and dependable, with an eager willingness to truly contribute and support with the collaboration of all aspects of the flourishing talent in Vegas.

Interests

Competition I mostly focus on Fashion Design and special orders, but I also do mixed media art, accessories, photography, and interior design.
